Courtenay, BC. March 29th, 2010 – Along with nineteen teams with a total of a 114 participants who donned costumes and snowshoes, 40 biathlon race course officials and volunteers from Nanaimo, Victoria, Coquitlam, the Comox Valley and Campbell River came out this weekend for the first biathlon snowshoe fundraiser in support of Rotary’s PolioPlus program and VIMSS (Vancouver Island Mountain Sports Society). March 1st, 2010 – The Biathlon Buzz is building for the first Biathlon Snowshoe Blast to be held on Sunday, March 28th on Mountain Washington. “This is a great opportunity to check out the new world class biathlon range in a fun filled team relay event,” said Pat Douglas, of the Vancouver Island Biathlon Club and a member on the 2010 Snowshoe Blast Organizing Committee.
